Thursday 15 May 2025 Gratitude Tree On May 15th we welcomed Grainne Rooney, Antrim Grammar School's Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner, into school at lunchtime. Pupils were keen to help create a Gratitude tree as one of the activities marking Mental Health Awareness week.

Tuesday 13 May 2025 SU Thanksgiving Service AGS SU enjoyed an inspiring evening of reflection and encouragement to mark the 50th anniversary of the school. Current and former staff and pupils shared the impact of SU on them and former head boy, Rick Hill, brought a timely message challenging us to consider how we stand out, lead well and influence others for good.

Friday 11 April 2025 My Own Words Project Congratulations to Danni Bones in Year 9 who has taken part in the My Own Words project, in partnership with Prime Cut Productions. Danni’s contribution, ‘Mystic and Ethereal’ is part of this new collection of writing which explores identity, culture and place through the eyes of forty-two diverse participants across six communities from across Belfast.

Tuesday 18 March 2025 Bronze DofE On Saturday, our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award participants wrapped up their training at Ardnavally Scout Centre. They put their newly acquired orienteering skills to the test with a short walk along the Lagan Towpath. Back at the centre, they prepared lunch using trangia stoves and honed their tent-pitching skills. The pupils are now all set for their qualifying expedition this May!

Tuesday 4 February 2025 Stand by Me Johnny from Stand By Me was in KS3 Connect Assembly this morning to receive a cheque from AGS for the Abdi Academy School Project in Ethiopia. AGS has supported three children throughout their school experience and this has transformed their lives by providing food, family support and education. This support has provided opportunities and stability and enabled them to be able to live independently beyond school. A huge thank you to all who contributed to the Stand By Me Child Sponsorship Programme over the years.

Thursday 23 January 2025 Holocaust Memorial Workshop Y13 History pupils had the privilege of joining our neighbours in Parkhall Integrated College to take part in a Holocaust Memorial workshop. Lu Lawrence, the daughter of the Holocaust survivor Ziggy Shippers, led the event and conveyed her father's story very meaningfully. This was a great opportunity for our pupils to hear a personal perspective on the Holocaust as we approach the 80th anniversary of the atrocity.

Thursday 16 January 2025 Interview Skills Day 2025 Today our Year 14 students took part in an interview skills day. The day started with a workshop lead by Olga Pollock and Lorna Leese from Firmus Energy, followed by individual interviews with interviewers from a range of companies and organisations. We would like to extend our gratitude to the interviewers who took time out of their working day to give the students this experience and provided invaluable feedback, and to Olga and Lorna in particular. And of course a HUGE well done to the students who performed brilliantly!
